This bill would require adults to provide personal information to download apps. While it is being promoted as child protection, it will not deliver the protection promised.

Folks, freedom means privacy and the Second Amendment. This bill is not ready. Don’t rush bad policy. Send it to a study committee, do the work, and come back with something that protects the vulnerable and honors our constitutional rights.

Tell your Representative to oppose SB 372 in its current form. Committee members refused to adopt an amendment that would have protected hunting and lawful gun-related content from being treated as obscene or harmful.

  • The Kansas Constitution protects the right to hunt, fish, and trap in perpetuity.
  • The Second Amendment protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms and makes clear that this right shall not be infringed.

Kansas Senate Bill 372 may be presented as a way to protect children online, but in reality it would require adults to provide detailed personal information to access everyday apps.
