Hunters Showing Up: Port Allen Skeet Shoot Brings Louisiana Sportsmen Together
This month in Port Allen, Louisiana, hunters from across the region gathered at Bridgeview Gun Club for a skeet shoot fundraiser supporting Caleb Kleinpeter. The turnout proved once again that the Louisiana hunting community stands strong.
Pickup trucks filled the parking lot early in the morning as shooters checked in for the morning flights. Under the tents, volunteers organized registration, merchandise, and the Hunter Nation Louisiana membership table while competitors prepared for a day of shooting, fellowship, and community support.
But this event was about more than just breaking clays. It was about bringing hunters together and building a stronger voice for Louisiana sportsmen.
Throughout the day, teams rotated through the skeet course while friends, families, and supporters gathered to cheer them on. Conversations ranged from hunting stories and conservation to the future of our outdoor traditions and the importance of civic engagement among sportsmen.
Building the Hunter Nation Movement
The skeet shoot also served as an opportunity for Hunter Nation Louisiana to grow its grassroots network.
Hunters stopped by the Hunter Nation tent to join the organization, learn about upcoming events, and talk about issues affecting hunters in Louisiana.
Louisiana has hundreds of thousands of licensed hunters, yet historically many have not been organized politically. Hunter Nation’s mission is simple: bring hunters together, give them a voice, and mobilize them when it matters most.
When hunters stand united, they become one of the largest grassroots communities in America.
Message from Louisiana State Director Sheila Musso
Hunter Nation Louisiana is focused on bringing sportsmen together across the state, strengthening our community, and making sure hunters understand the power they have when they stand united.
“Our outdoor traditions are worth protecting, and the best way to do that is by building a strong network of hunters who stay informed, get involved, and turn out when it counts.”
— Sheila Musso Louisiana State Director Hunter Nation Louisiana
Mobilizing Hunters to Turn Out the Vote
One of Hunter Nation’s core missions is ensuring that hunters are registered, informed, and engaged in civic life.
Louisiana hunters stand for one of the largest communities in the state, but their influence grows exponentially when they are organized and mobilized.
Events like the Port Allen skeet shoot allow Hunter Nation to connect with hunters face-to-face and remind them that when hunters vote, their voices matter.
